Police are continuing to investigate a bomb threat that was phoned in to Winters Mill High School on Wednesday morning.
Students and staff were evacuated around 10 a.m. from the Westminster school to nearby Cranberry Elementary School as a precautionary measure, said Carroll County Public Schools spokeswoman Brenda Bowers.
Carroll County Sheriff’s deputies and K-9 units as well as police from other agencies were continuing searches of the building around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to Cpl. Jon Light, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.
Students and staff will re-enter as soon as police indicate there is no imminent danger, according to an email sent by schools spokeswoman Carey Gaddis. Another email will be sent to parents when students are allowed to re-enter the building.
